ASTA FISSLER Vintage Enamel Cookware Food Warmer, Casserole Pan, Dutch Oven
ASTA 1851 FISSLER Vintage German Enamelware Floral Enamel Cookware - Footed Rechaud Food Warmer, Pot, & Casserole/Soup Pot - Dutch Oven Set. This beautiful enamel cookware set was made in West Germany by The Fissler Company, and it was from their ASTA Enamelware line. The ASTA Enamelware line was manufactured from 1851 until production stopped in the 1980s. ASTA's pots and pans are comprised of steel bodies covered with two coats of porcelain enamel which were then fired. The final step involved firing on a third layer of porcelain enamel which was applied to cover surface ornamentation.
As a result of this intensive production process, ASTA Cookware is quite durable as well as visually appealing. These luxury, high quality, ASTA pots and pans were quite expensive when they were initially offered in retail locations and they remain highly sought after today. Condition: Great Vintage Condition - This beautiful enamel cookware set has never been used for cooking. It has been for display only. The brass stereo burner and cover are brand new and also have never been used.
The pots have no markings on the inside of them which is what leads me to believe that they have never been used for cooking purposes, although you could use them for that if you wanted to. The brass hardware does show some slight wear/tarnish due to the age of this set. There are some very slight wear marks on the Rechaud Food Warmer near the opening where the sterno would be placed inside, that is due to the age of this set and the enamel slightly rubbing off. Overall, this vintage set is in amazing shape for its age.
